Much of the flavor we want to achieve with our dishes also comes from the sauces and seasonings we use. Sure, certain meats have their own distinct flavor already that there is minimal (with the use of salt, perhaps) to almost no need of seasoning.

However, there are also other meats and vegetables that can benefit from these sauces and seasonings, especially if you were to make a dish that would require such. Many of our Filipino dishes stick to the salt and pepper seasoning, save for a couple other dishes that would be best if additionally seasoned with other aromatics such as ginger, lemongrass, pandan, and other condiments.
