IF only the Department of Health (DoH) had its way, it could have given the benefits to all health workers but said that its hands were tied because the existing law provided only for those who "directly cared" for patients infected with Covid-19.
This is why, according to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire during her weekly forum, the DoH wants the Bayanihan Act to be amended so that they can give benefits to all health care workers.
