The government is set to reduce the price cap on reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests to allow more people to be tested for Covid-19 amid rising cases.

According to Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases agreed to further bring down the recommended price of the tests in its last meeting that will be announced in the coming days by the Department of Trade and Industry and the Department of Health (DoH).
