I AM very amused and take it as a badge of dubious honor to have been alluded to in Bobi Tiglao's column, which correctly excoriated Cut and Paste on Sweden as "nuts" and added that "another smart-alecky columnist" (me) for noting that Cut and Paste was turning The Manila Times into a clipping service for the lying right. I am glad Tiglao pointed out that Cut and Paste's column was a double cut and paste as he copied an article that itself was a cut and paste! I hope I have not become a colossal smart aleck but who is the other? With the Delta variant causing cases to rise above prior records, his praise for Sweden as cases hits new records is wacko. Is he eating spiked Swedish meatballs? Why does he talk down to his readers by defining words he uses or cuts and pastes? His readers probably understand the words and if they don't, they can look it up.

I can't let go of the Covid-related mutant Taglish. Alas after lambasting OCTA Research for its dumbing down of language, it seems this affliction is as contagious as the Delta variant as it was very unfortunate to read the Inquirer's update story on August 27 where Interior Secretary Eduardo Año was quoted as follows on granular lockdowns in September: "So mas maganda na maja-jive natin dito, and at the same time, makapag-prepare din 'yung ating local government units (LGUs) dito sa bagong shift ng policy."
