My cousin is in the process of divorce with his Japanese wife. If it is granted, can the divorce be recognized here in the Philippines considering that there is no divorce law here? It was mutually agreed by them to get a divorce in Japan, as it is allowed in their country.

Paragraph 2 of Article 26 of the Family Code of the Philippines recognizes a validly obtained decree of divorce, and provides its legal consequences notwithstanding the fact that there is no absolute divorce here in the Philippines:
