BACOLOD CITY: The first batch of migratory field workers, locally referred to as "sacadas," arrived here from Antique on Friday to signal the start of the sugar milling season, Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said.

The sacadas will work in Negros Occidental sugarcane farms in the duration of the sugar milling season that starts in September and ends in March next year.
