AT present, 2.7 million tons of plastic waste are generated in the Philippines each year, an estimated 20 percent of which ends up in the ocean (McKinsey, 2015). According to a study published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Philippines contributes over one-third of the plastic waste found in the ocean.

"It is very alarming that our country is actually one of the leading polluters in the world," shares Avon Philippines' Marketing Director Anna Garces. "That's why we want to use our platform as a global brand to encourage sustainable living and invite every Filipino to take part in this initiative to make our country a better place for future generations."
