AS the country observed International Literacy Day on Wednesday, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian pressed the need to achieve zero illiteracy nationwide.

The chairman of the Senate Committee on Basic Education, Arts and Culture recently filed two measures that aim to accelerate the universalization of literacy and address learning losses resulting from school closures.
