IP groups seek Makabayan lawmakers' resignation

The government's anti-communist task force said several tribes of indigenous peoples (IP) sought the resignation of lawmakers belonging to the Makabayan bloc in the House of Representatives for allegedly "misrepresenting and manipulating" indigenous communities.

Gaye Florendo, spokesperson for IP concerns for the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, said 126 IP tribes want Rep. Eufemia Cullamat of Bayan Muna party-list and the rest of the Makabayan bloc lawmakers to step down from their positions.
