THE Asean Trade Union Council (ATUC) has strongly condemned the Myanmar military junta for its blatant usurpation of political and governmental powers from the democratically elected leaders of government.
The ATUC has affiliate federations and national labor centers in nine of the 10 Asean member states and in Timor Leste. Brunei has no labor federation or labor center. In terms of worker members, ATUC has more than 18 million.
