FORD PH ups the ante with the introduction of the Shelby GT500 in the domestic market

Ford PH has quietly launched the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. This marks the first time that a Ford with the Shelby nameplate has been officially sold in the country since the Shelby GT350 and GT500 were only available through gray market dealers in the past.

The most powerful Ford ever needs an exterior design that flexes its capability. The front end is more aggressive, with a more pronounced air dam, front splitter, and a redesigned grille. Other functional upgrades made to the Mustang Shelby GT500 are the rear diffuser, rear spoiler, and wider front and rear tracks. There's also a unique hood with self-centering hood pins, and a larger front radiator block-off plate. The Philippine-market Shelby GT500 rides on 20" x 11.0" flow-formed high-gloss black-painted aluminum wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires while stopping power comes courtesy of large ventilated SHW brake rotors with red-painted Brembo front and rear calipers.
