THE Philippines recorded 13,846 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Tuesday, the lowest in a single day in September but which raised the total number of infections to 2.523 million.

The low case number was due to low test output on September 26, where 47,430 cases were reported, of which 24.1 percent tested positive. Seven laboratories were not able to submit their data.
