Bank loans to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) continued to fall short of the mandated level in the first half of this year, according to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

Latest central bank data showed that P454.84 billion was put aside for financing to MSMEs during the period, falling short of the P835.03 billion specified by Republic Act 6977 or the "Magna Carta for MSMEs."
