COTABATO CITY: The electorates in the provinces of Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat provinces do not have to worry with name recall when they vote in the May 2022 elections as two Mangudadatu clans, cousins by familial ties, collide for the gubernatorial post.
According to Ali Macabalang, president of the Bangsamoro Press Corps, the election for governor in Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat is going to be a Mangudadatu vs Mangudadatu race between estranged cousins Maguindanao Second District Rep. Esmael "Toto" Mangudadatu and Sultan Kudarat Gov. Suharto "Teng" Mangudadatu.
