SHANXI:
Severe rainfall and flooding in North China's Shanxi Province have affected more than 1.76 million people as of Sunday. A total of 120,100 have been relocated, 2,849,600 mu (189,973 hectares) of crops have been damaged and more than 17,000 houses have collapsed, the Xinhua News Agency reported.

From October 2 to Thursday, the provincial average precipitation was 119.5 millimeter (mm). Eighteen counties received more than 200 mm of precipitation and 51 counties received between 100 and 200 mm of precipitation. The maximum accumulated precipitation was 285.2 mm.
