DoST-PTRI supports advocacy on the use of neo ethnic Philippine textiles in academic regalia

OFFICIALS and technical experts from the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Textile Research Institute (Dost-PTRI), led by Director Celia Elumba, expressed support and provided inputs to the deliberation of provisions in the House Bill 9732, or an "An Act Prescribing the Use of Neo-Ethnic Philippine Textiles in the Academic Regalia of All State Universities and Colleges."

The measure, authored by Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda, aims to provide an opportunity and distinguish graduates of all Philippine universities and colleges to wear academic regalia that is notably Filipino.
