SEN. Richard Gordon, chairman of the Senate blue ribbon committee, on Friday disclosed that business leaders expressed their support for the ongoing Senate investigation into the government's response against the coronavirus disease 2019, especially in the purchase of alleged overpriced medical supplies.

In a statement, Gordon said he received the position paper of the businessmen, led by the Chamber of Commerce of the Philippine Islands (CCPI), which said that "institutions of government -- Commission on Audit, Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, other institutions (private and public), and the people must be encouraged, supported, and defended in their sublime duties to investigate, and exact accountability/good governance from those that are duty bound to serve the people and who control the money of the people, in-trust for the people, especially in these difficult times".
