THE University of the Philippines-Los Baños (UPLB) has recognized the passion for education and governance of Education Secretary Leonor Briones, naming a new gumamela hybrid in her honor.
Now in its 21st year, the UPLB's Women in Public Service series names gumamela (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) hybrids after women who have dedicated their time and effort to public service.
