ORTHODOX boxer Adam Diu "Big Daddy" Abdulhamid of General Santos City will fight southpaw Jason "Siaton Boy" Egera of Negros Oriental for the vacant Philippine welterweight title on October 29 at the Sanman Gym in General Santos City.

The 26-year-old Abdulhamid said that he trained hard for the fight and he recently sparred for 10 rounds against Jhunrick Carceda of Davao City and Alvin Vergara of GenSan, who are both southpaw welterweights.

"Naka training pud ko dugay (I've been training for a long time)," said Abdulhamid, who last fought in March this year when he scored a knockout win over Romeo Jakosalem.

"Maningkamut dyud ko ani kay dako kaayo ning opportunity na maka world ranking ko (I will try my best because this is a great opportunity for me to improve my world ranking)."

Abdulhamid, who is trained by Markquil Salvaña and managed by Jim Claude "JC" Manangquil of Sanman Boxing Promotion, has a record of 16 wins with eight knockouts against nine losses.

Egera, on the other hand, settled on a split draw with Roberto Gonzales of Romblon in his last bout on Feb. 15, 2020 in Taytay. He carries with him a record of 24 wins, 22 loses, three draws and 11 knockouts.

The fight card, which also features Aston Palicte (27-4-1, 23 KOs) and Roland Jay Biendima (15-9-1, 8 KOs) in a 10-round main supporting bout, will be held in a bubble setup, in accordance with the guidelines put up by the Games and Amusements Board and the Inter-Agency Task Force.

This is the sixth "bubble boxing" event of Sanman Promotions.

The undercard also features matches between Richie Mepranum (35-8-1, 10 KOs) and Nicardo Calamba (9-32-5, 6 KOs); Mark Anthony Barriga (10-1, 2 KOs) and Ramel Antaran (4-14-2); Michael Casama (6-0, 6 KOs) and Joe Tejones (13-8, 7 KOs); Joey Canoy (16-5-1, 9 KOs) and Michael Camelion (11-13-3, 9 KOs); and Ian Sampan (3-0, 3 KOs) and Dave Barlas (5-2-1, 3 KOs), among others.
