FORMER senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. called on Congress to suspend the excise tax on oil products to offset the impact of rising fuel prices on the transport sector.

Local oil prices have risen for eight straight weeks. Marcos said the suspension of excise tax on oil "may significantly slash gasoline prices by P10 per liter and diesel products by P6 per liter."
