DAVAO CITY: Eighty-six former members of the communist New People's Army (NPA) from San Fernando and Kitaotao towns in Bukidnon received a total of P1.720 million in livelihood grants from the Department of Social Welfare and Development during a ceremony held on Thursday.

According to Maj. Jershome Butt, the acting head of civil military operation of Philippine Army's 89th Infantry Battalion (IB), each rebel returnee received P20,000 financial assistance as capital on their proposed livelihood project to uplift their socio-economic well-being.
