THE Insurance Commission issued guidelines on Thursday for cooperative insurance companies' minimum paid-up capital and net worth standards.
"No new cooperative insurance company shall be allowed to do insurance business and be licensed as such unless it has a paid-up capital of at least 50 percent of what is required under the Amended lnsurance Code and subsequent amendments thereto," Insurance Commissioner Dennis Funa said in a circular letter dated October 19, 2021.
