THE national government's budget deficit widened to P180.9 billion in September, pushing the year-to-date gap to more than P1 trillion, according to the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) data released on Monday.

The shortfall was higher than the P138.5-billion fiscal deficit from a year ago.
