A member of Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial board) of Mindoro Occidental has urged the National Food Authority (NFA) to buy typhoon-damaged palay (unmilled rice) from farmers in Occidental Mindoro.
Board member Diana Apigo-Tayag said this would help the local farmers who were severely affected by Typhoons "Lanie" and "Maring" that consecutively hit the province.
