DOLOMITE Beach proved to be too popular for pandemic times. The crowd last Sunday was double or triple what it could safely and comfortably handle. So, whoever is managing it should take note, make rules and disseminate them so people are informed about what to expect.

Obviously, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), which has jurisdiction over the beach, did not expect the magnitude of the crowd. It just shows how much the lack of open spaces is felt in the city that anything that approximates it will be a magnet for those who feel the deprivation.
