AS part of its corporate-wide initiative to help rehabilitate and manage degraded forest lands and improve livelihoods of forest-dependent rural communities, San Miguel Corp. (SMC) reported it has planted 3.5 million trees on 1,000 hectares of upland and coastal land nationwide for the last three years.

SMC also reported that the said initiative has yielded a survival rate of 89 percent for upland trees and 91 percent for mangrove saplings.
