Angkla partylist vice chairman Capt. Ronald Enrile underscored the need for a higher budget for the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) to enable it to address the multifarious concerns of the nation's maritime administration from preserving Filipino seafarers' jobs abroad to beefing up its organization as well as building up its personnel's capacity.

In the recent episode of the Marino Filipino aired online, Enrile vowed to work for higher budgetary allocation for Marina to provide it with needed resources to address the concerns of the industry, among them the threat of possible withdrawal of recognition of the European Commission (EC) on Philippine-issued Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) certificates.
