NATIONAL Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. admitted on Thursday that the government has known of the presence of the Chinese ships on Philippine territory for almost a week now and were puzzled by their continued stay.
Esperon said 19 ships were spotted in the Ayungin Shoal and 45 more were seen in Pag-asa (Thitu) Island.
