BTS and Coldplay team up to rock the American Music Awards

On Monday morning, Philippine time, the American Music Awards once again celebrated the best of popular music. Cardi B hosted the show.
The night's leading nominee Olivia Rodrigo performed "traitor." BTS and Coldplay also performed their hit "My Universe."
Taylor Swift — who already has 34 wins — added two more awards by the end of the night. These are Favorite Female Pop Artist and Favorite Pop Album for "evermore."
BTS won all three awards they were nominated for, which includes Artist of the Year.
Megan Thee Stallion also won three awards.
Olivia Rodrigo won New Artist of the Year.

RIP Direk Bert De Leon

Meanwhile, the local show business is mourning the passing of veteran TV director Bert De Leon. He was 74 years old.
Direk Bert was known for his work on "Eat Bulaga!" "Bubble Gang," "Pepito Manaloto," and many other family-friendly shows.
Hindi pa dine-disclose ang cause of death, pero back in July, the director was confined because of a heart attack and needed to undergo an angiogram or angioplasty. Nag-positive rin siya for Covid-19 pagkalabas niya ng ospital.
Puno ang social media ng tributes for the director, from director Joey eyes, singer Richard Reynoso, and Sexbomb dancer Aira Bermudez, and other close friends, family members, and celebrities he has worked with.
Rest in peace po, direk Bert De Leon.

Following their vlog back in August na naging viral meme, broadcast journalist Karen Davila and singer Lyca Gairanod celebrated their birthday together nitong November 21.
It can be remembered na nag promise si Karen na siya ang mag-papa-party on their special day. Their birthdays became even more special dahil bukod sa mga pakain, Karen and Lyca shared their blessings to Lyca's neighbors in Tanza, Cavite.

Another cause of joyful celebration was the simple and intimate civil wedding ceremony of Jennlyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo that took place on Nov. 15. First few photos were released the following day but it was only on Saturday when they confirmed the ceremony and revealed full details.
The couple looked radiant in their matching white suits by Vania Romoff for Jen, and Edwin Tan for Dennis. Congrats, DenJen!

Finally, another piece of news that went viral over the weekend was Janella Salvador's comeback project — an iconic one at that! Janella was cast as this generation's Valentina for the upcoming "Darna: The TV Series"
In a trending virtual livestream titled "The Valentina Reveal," Janella shared na nagsimula na siya mag taping and has done scenes as Regina Vanguardia, or Valentina's alter ego.
Janella expressed her excitement about the role. The actress shared na maraming aabangan sa kanyang rendition of Darna's iconic archnemesis.
