DIGITAL banks can now engage in the monetary operations of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the secondary market for its Securities.

The Monetary Board has amended the Manual of Regulations for Banks and the Manual of Regulations for Non-Bank Financial Institutions "to operationalize the inclusion of digital banks as eligible participants for BSP's monetary operations and of trust entities as eligible participants of BSP Securities in the secondary market," according to BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno.
