THE Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost), Art Association of the Philippines Inc. (AAP) and Malabon Zoo signed a tripartite memorandum of agreement to benefit Malabon Zoo who is in need of support and sustenance following its closure due to Covid-19 pandemic health restrictions.
Ten percent of the proceeds of the first Philippine Postal Corporation Art Competition 2021 will go to Malabon Zoo to help bring some relief to the animals during this pandemic. PHLPost and AAP organized the art competition to promote the creative expression of the Filipinos and develop their artistic accomplishments at its highest level.
Manny Tangco, president and founder of the Malabon Zoo, Aquarium and Botanical Garden, commonly known as Malabon Zoo, welcomed this move by the post office and AAP to help maintain the zoo, which has become famous for its wild animals. The animals were named after celebrities, actors, politicians and other personalities.
The post office and AAP announced that interested artists are invited to submit their best representational art to the open theme competition. Any subject or artistic expression is welcome. Entry forms are available online via its social media page. All interested applicants must be mindful of the mechanics, rules, and regulations governing the competition.
Participant's artwork will be displayed at the iconic Manila Central Post Office. The art exhibit shall be open to the public. Artists can visit the information link on the AAP Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/200996850006586.
