I CRINGE inside every time I am introduced as a "political analyst" whenever I am interviewed. It is not a derogatory label, but I do feel — honestly — that I am not worthy of it. I gladly embrace the label "historian" although old-school historians like Dr. Milagros Guerrero — famous for her work on the political elites during the Revolution of 1896 and subsequent Filipino-American War — do not like that label because of the sheer weight of it. She preferred the more modest "student of history" label.

I am uneasy with being called a political analyst more than anything.
