IN my Nov. 14, 2021 column, I expressed my amazement about the many infrastructure projects that were completed and are being constructed under the current government's Build, Build, Build (BBB) program particularly in Mindanao. The Manila Times posted my column on its Facebook page, and it received over 7,000 likes, about a thousand comments and over a thousand shares. Many of those who commented expressed their appreciation to President Rodrigo Duterte and acknowledged that the BBB program was his administration's legacy to the people.

Others commented about the enormous debts our government has incurred while others explained what loans were for and how these would be paid by our country. There was even a comment that I was presenting half-truths and lies, that I was a paid DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) writer. These comments were all welcome because they were a reflection that we could freely express our views on social media and the newspapers.
