A PHILOSOPHICAL question was raised in the 1600s: "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" Under metaphysics, this question is a derivative of another question: Can something exist without being perceived by our consciousness?
These questions came to me again when Zoe (not her real name) asked a modern-day business question: "Do we have to agree on everything that our customers would request? We're being asked to consider giving them many payment options, like GCash, PayMaya and other e-wallet platforms."
