THE Philippines logged 500 cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Wednesday, raising the number of infections nationwide to 2.833 million, including 15,327 new ones.
It has been a week since the country posted less than 1,000 daily Covid-19 cases, with the lowest reported on Monday, at 425.
Positivity rate remained at 2.1 percent, with 30,841 samples tested by all but five laboratories on Monday.
Of the 15, 327 active cases, about 7,900 cases are mild and asymptomatic, 3,832 moderate, 2,489 severe and 1,067 critical.
Of the total cases, 97.7 percent or 2.769 million have recovered, including 951 new ones. The death toll is at 48,712, including 167 new fatalities.
Occupancy rate in intensive care units for Covid-19 patients remains at 27 percent and 28 percent nationwide and in Metro Manila respectively.
