UNIVERSITIES, colleges, schools, academies, institutes, centers — all these are various spaces for academic study. How is "study" in universities? What exactly is "study" as a basic university function? Has this basic function changed? Does it approach what Bartlett Giamatti says what universities are? Angelo Bartlett Giamatti (April 4, 1938 – Sept. 1, 1989) was an American professor of English Renaissance literature and president of Yale University.

Top Philippine universities. In our times, we refer to universities as institutions of higher learning providing facilities for teaching and creating knowledge through research.
