DEPARTMENT of Science and Technology (DoST) chief Fortunato de la Peña invited more Filipino experts that were abroad to join the Balik Scientists Program (BSP) and return to the country to help develop the new scientific fields and interests in the country.
During the Seventh BSP Annual Convention on November 19, the DoST secretary mentioned that, "We have relatively new fields in the Philippines where we need experts in neuroscience, quantum computing, plant breeding, medical chemistry and so on. We need the expertise of our balik (returnee) scientists to further these new interests in the country."
