Recall of mandatory jab order pressed

SEN. Ana Theresia "Risa" Hontiveros on Friday urged the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) to recall its resolution directing mandatory vaccination of workers in workplaces, saying the move is not only unacceptable but is a violation of laws.

"Malinaw sa ating labor laws na iligal na i-hold ang sweldo ng sinumang empleyado nang walang pahintulot. Hindi ito dapat payagan dahil isang araw lang na maantala ang sahod ng manggagawa ay katumbas na ng gutom ng buong pamilya (It is clear in our labor laws that it is illegal to hold the salary of any employee without his/her consent. This should not be allowed because for a day of delay of the salary of a worker is equivalent to the hunger of the whole family)," she said.
