With an aim to increase the interoperability between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Member States Navies and Russian Navy, the Asean-Russia Naval Exercise was held on December 1 to 3 within the Indonesian territorial waters off the coast of North Sumatera.
The Russian Navy was represented by the Russian Pacific Fleet destroyer Admiral Panteleyev. Army Lieutenant General Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia started the exercise from the destroyer Admiral Panteleyev.
