THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) has reopened its "e-gates" in two international airports in anticipation of the expected surge in passenger arrivals for the holiday season despite the travel restrictions implemented due to Omicron, a variant of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) virus.
Commissioner Jaime Morente said the e-gates would help prevent long queues at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and Clark International Airport (CIA) in Pampanga when arrivals start to peak in the coming weeks.
