BAGUIO CITY: Vice President Maria Leonor "Leni" Robredo hailed the member-consumer-owners of the Benguet Electric Cooperative (Beneco) for their vigilance in protecting one of the country's top performing electric cooperatives from an alleged takeover initiated by the National Electrification Administration (NEA).

The Beneco board of directors and the NEA board of administrators were in disagreement on who should be appointed as the new general manager of Beneco following the retirement of the late Gerry Versoza on April 30, 2020.
