MANKAYAN, Benguet: The Indigenous peoples (IPs) of this mining town asserted their right over their ancestral land by rejecting the bid of a mining company to conduct a mining exploration within their territory.
In a resolution of non-consent, the IPs from the 12 barangay (villages) of Mankayan expressed their rejection through a consensus of the planned mining exploration of Cordillera Exploration Inc. (Cexci) in their ancestral domain.
