DURING one of the holiday get-togethers, I was asked about the Marcoses at a dinner. How should we respond to a question — Filipinos removed Marcos in 1986 and now are about to elect his son and namesake come May 2022? For me, it was an easy response by talking about the promises of EDSA and where we are today. Who got richer? Ten to 14 families. Where was the poverty threshold? It was at 22 percent while the rest of Asean was at 14 percent in 2016.
