Atayde said that he set up free antigen testing sites at the basketball courts in Barangays San Antonio, Bahay Toro and Paltok beginning Thursday.

"A lot of people in District 1 have no free access to antigen testing, and it is very vital for each of them to know their status in order to stop the spread of the virus," said the actor.

Atayde has gained the trust of the residents because he constantly communicates with them.

He recently received the 4th Gawad Lasallianeta Green Zeal Award for Excellence as a Media/Public Communicator.

The actor will accept the award during the 76th founding anniversary of the De La Salle University (DLSU) this month.

Atayde is a La Salle alumnus who is considered as an outstanding and effective public communicator who lives the La Sallian way of life as a public figure, the statement said.

He shared the achievement with his mother, Sylvia Sanchez, who was recognized as Best Actress in the Phoenix Excellence Awards for Entertainment 2021.

The Phoenix Excellence Awards honors different sectors and celebrates the champions of such categories as business and advocacy, government and charities, and entertainment.

"It's really a great privilege to be recognized alongside my son Arjo," Sanchez said.

"I have seen how dedicated Arjo has been with his craft as an actor all these years, and it warms my heart to see that he is reaping the fruits of hard work. The start of 2022 is really difficult for all of us, and this is great news that [my family and I] could smile about. We dedicate this recognition to everyone who continues to support and believe in us as this motivates us to be more passionate in the work that we do," she said.

As a recipient of the Green Zeal, Atayde said he was humbled by the recognition from his alma mater, and it will motivate him to continue with his advocacies to serve people.

"I take the Green Zeal very seriously especially now that I am running for public office. I take with me the La Sallian values of faith, integrity and honesty in my journey as a public servant, and it is my commitment to strive for excellence and be a man who is worthy of the Green Zeal," he said.
