VACCINE czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said that coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines might become commercially available in the Philippines by 2023, noting the government would continue providing it for free to vulnerable sectors of society.

Definitely, like 'yung sa cholera, tigdas at saka 'yung polio. If there would be commercialization maybe next year, we would still definitely have free vaccines just like the free shots for cholera, measles and polio. We would still have a portion allocated especially for children, the elderly and the poor communities that cannot afford to pay for vaccines)," Galvez said during the launch of a vaccination site at QualiMed Clinic in Makati City on Friday.
