The Japanese government officials in Geneva, Swizerland exchanged a Note Verbale with the representatives of the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) on January 14.

IFRC will receive $1.83 million for the emergency operation supporting the people affected by Typhoon Odette in the central and southern parts of the Philippines. This was done following the government of Japan's decision, also on January 14, to provide a disaster relief assistance of $13 million or approximately P663 million to the country.
