FILIPINO voters must support candidates in the May 9 elections that will push for the immediate banning of coal and fossil gas-fed power plants in the country, a pro-environment coalition said yesterday.

At a forum dubbed "Pro-Filipino Climate and Environment Agenda" held on the eve of the official campaign period for national elective posts, leaders of church and civil society organizations urged the electorate to support candidates who will push for a pro-environment development path in the next six years.
