Three of the world's most prolific auto manufacturers have already gotten into deal where they plan to reduce their internal combustion engine production to almost zero and turn to electrification in the next decade.

The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance has confirmed a €23-billion (£19-billion) investment in electrification over the next five years as it seeks to strengthen the partnership between the three brands.
