AKSYON Demokratiko vice presidential candidate Dr. Willie Ong on Friday urged the government to pursue reforms in the country's prison system, including a provision on health and rehabilitation services to persons deprived of liberty (PDL).

Ong pointed to the "dismal state" of the country's penal system, among them overcrowding, lack of personnel, and inadequate psychological, medical and physical support.
