IF ever Cebu had a superstar, it was Pablito "Bobby" Nalzaro of GMA Network. Bobby — or Super Bobby — was not only a trimedia personality doing a daily radio commentary, news cast on TV and newspaper columns, he was a larger-than-life celebrity in Cebu. But more than being a famous person, Bobby was a true and loyal friend. His untimely passing on March 17, at the age of 58, not only is a loss to Cebu's media, it leaves a big gaping hole in the lives of his relatives, friends, colleagues and avid listeners.

Bobby was part of my life in Cebu almost since I settled here in the mid-1990s. My late husband, Cerge Remonde, was one of the local media personalities who looked out for Bobby when he started working with Bombo Radyo's Cebu station sometime in the 1980s. Bobby, who hailed from Dipolog City, initially worked with Bombo Radyo in Iloilo.
